The LeaderShop Celebrates Devoted Volunteers and Partners

On Wednesday, July 10, The LeaderShop welcomed over 100 youth and adults to the 3rd Annual Legacy Awards Dinner, a night to honor those who make The LeaderShop’s impact in local communities possible with their dedication, generosity and passion. From July 2012 through June 2013, 872 youth volunteers and 180 adult volunteers gave nearly 18,500 volunteer hours, serving 1,458 clients. That’s 2,312 consecutive days of service provided through The LeaderShop!

The LeaderShop presents Legacy Awards to four organization volunteers (2 adult, 2 graduating seniors) who have shown through words and actions how to be a leader. They have proven to be role models to others, and have inspired greatness throughout the community. Their legacy leaves behind a great and ever-growing format for how others should be treated and how we should all consider the positive effects we can have on our communities.

Congratulations to the 2013 Legacy Award Winners!

Right on the heels of the Legacy Awards, The LeaderShop hosted Party in the Park, Celebrating Summit, on Thursday, July 11. Children, youth and adults from Lyons and Southern Proviso Townships enjoyed a barbecue at Summit Park, complete with face painting, games, give-aways and a softball game between alumni of The LeaderShop and current youth participants.

The LeaderShop presented awards to its Summit partners who have been essential to the delivery of The LeaderShop’s mission over the past 35 years. The LeaderShop is most thankful for the opportunity to work with Summit institutions and join forces to provide programs and services to benefit the spectacular youth and families of Summit.
