Stalking, Domestic Battery and Identity Theft: Police Recap May 2013
La Grange police recap day shift police activity from the month of May.
During the month of May, La Grange police arrested 4 minors, issued 673 parking tickets, 134 traffic citations and 155 compliance citations. They made eight misdemeanor arrests, 66 accident reports and locked up 10 prisoners, according to the police department's monthly report.
Juvenile arrests, parking tickets, traffic compliance citations and the number of prisoners were up from May 2012. Police in May 2012 arrested one minor, held six prisoners, issued 506 parking tickets and 127 traffic citations, according to the report.
The report also showed a small drop in accident reports and misdemeanor and DUI arrests.
Police investigated the following day shift cases in May 2013:
- A domestic battery reported in the 300 block of Bluff Avenue
- A dog bite in the 600 block of South Catherine Avenue
- Fraud cases in the 500 block of S. Ashland and in the 200 block of East Maple Avenue
- Criminal damage to a vehicle in the 900 block of 8th Avenue (Police did end up arresting a 37-year-old La Grange man in this case.)
- A criminal damage to a vehicle reported in the 900 block of South La Grange Road
- Hit and Run (Village Property) at La Grange Road and Burlington Avenue
- An identity theft investigation from a resident in the 1100 block of South Spring Avenue
- An investigation involving a juvenile matter in 1000 block of South Spring Avenue
- A stalking case at Lyons Township High School
- A report of a suspicious person and vehicle in 500 block of 10th Avenue
- A theft valued at more than $500 at La Grange Road and Goodman Avenue
