Tuesday, Aug. 27

Power Out, Stranger in Backyard

A resident in the 200 block of Leitch said that her power went out around 1 a.m., at almost the same time she saw someone walking in her backyard, police said. The officer who checked the area didn’t see any ComEd trucks.

Suspended License

Goran Ilic, 26, of the 6100 block of Brainard in Countryside, was arrested around 4:10 p.m. near the intersection of 55th Street and Willow Springs Road, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended license.

Attempted Fox Poisoning

A man who lives in the 400 block of Sunset Avenue was reportedly telling his neighbors that he’s been leaving poison out to try to kill red foxes, police said. Officers talked to the man’s daughter about researching the regulations regarding foxes.

Sunday, Aug. 25

House Egged

A house was egged overnight in the 1000 block of South Catherine Avenue, police said. It’s the second time the house has been egged in the past couple of weeks.

Driver Follows Woman Home

A special watch was placed on a home in the 700 block of South Edgewood after a woman reported that a vehicle appeared to follow her home, police said. The dark-colored sedan drove erratically before flashing its lights at the resident and parking near her home, police said. The people left the area, but the resident said she feared they would return and damage her car.

Drag Racing

A car was reportedly circling the block and drag racing on Cossitt, heading westbound from Madison around 12:06 a.m., police said. Officers were unable to locate the car.

Fight at Washington and Lincoln

About 15 to 20 people were fighting near the intersection of Washington and Lincoln around 12:26 a.m., police said. The group scattered before officers arrived but were located in the alley behind the 200 block of East, police said. The complainant said she did not witness any actual confrontation but overheard threats. Officers remained in the area while things calmed down.

Saturday, Aug. 24

Suspended, Revoked License

Scott D. Kizior, 39, of the 3600 block of South 58th Avenue in Cicero, was arrested around 4:20 p.m. near the intersection of 47th and 10th, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Ding-Dong Ditch

A group of four teenage boys reportedly rang a doorbell near the intersection of Spring and Elm repeatedly around 9:25 p.m., police said. Officers were unable to find the boys.

Man Tries to Enter Home

A man tried to open the front door of a home in the 300 block of South Edgewood Lane around 6:30 a.m., police said. One of the residents asked the man what he wanted, and he told her a name. The man left when the resident told him to go away. He is described as a white man in his 20s wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt with the number 36 on it.
