Kids Robbed in La Grange in 2 Incidents Friday Night

Police investigate reports of two men who robbed 13- and 14-year-old boys in La Grange Friday, Sept. 27.

Police are investigating reports of three kids who were robbed in two separate incidents in La Grange between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27.

In the first incident, two male offenders in their late teens or early 20s approached a 14-year-old boy near the intersection of Cossitt and Blackstone avenues and told him to hand over his money. The boy complied and the offenders left the area, police said.

In the second incident, near the intersection of Spring and Burlington avenues, two offenders who matched the same description made the same demand. One of the teens complied and when the other refused, the men forcefully grabbed his wallet and phone.

The victim who refused then pursued the offenders and a fight ensued, police said. The offender threw the kid’s things back at him and left the area, police said.
