Gun Shop Shooting Death Believed to be Accidental: Report
Police investigating shooting in Lyons gun shop that killed a Riverside man.
Michael Babinsky of Riverside may have accidentally shot and killed himself in the firing range at the Midwest Gun Shop in Lyons Tuesday, the Doings La Grange reported Wednesday.
According to a news release from the Lyons Police Department, police were called to the Midwest Gun Shop in the 8500 block of Plainfield Road in Lyons about 1:55 p.m. for a reported shooting in the gun range area.

Police found Babinski on the first floor of the gun range with what appeared to be a serious head wound. Police told ABC7 News they believe the man may have accidentally shot himself.
Michael Babinski, 49, of the 300 block of Nutall Road in Riverside, was pronounced dead about 5:36 p.m. at Loyola University Hospital, according to the medical examiner's office.
Police told the Doings they believe the shooting was an accident, but are still investigating whether it was intentional or accidental. They recovered two guns Babinski may have shot that day, but do not know which of the two shot him, according to the Doings.
