Gang Graffiti Found in Sawyer Park 

Police found gang graffiti under the pavilion at Sawyer Park about 8:40 p.m.

Block Party Barricades Fail to Serve Their Purpose 

A man in a Lexus drove through the barricades at a block party in the 300 block of South Peck about 9:30 p.m. No one was injured.

Suspicious Car 

A woman in the 0-100 block of East Ogden Avenue reported a dark car in the old YMCA lot about 10:15 pm. The car was sent away about 10:30 p.m., police said.

Business Burglary 

Police are investigating a burglary reported at Blue Pearl Stone Technologies, 333, Washington Ave., about 10:15 a.m.

A woman reported kids for playing on the playground at Sedgewick Park after dusk about 7:40 p.m.

Bike Stolen 

Someone stole a $1,500 men’s bike left in the 200 block of East Cossitt Avenue about 5 p.m.

Grandma Reports Girls Threatened Her Granddaughter 

A woman reported her granddaughter was being followed home from school by four girls in a car that were threatening to jump her about 4 p.m. No one was injured or charged.

Needles Found at 50th and East

Police found hypodermic needles in the street about 6 p.m. near the intersection of 50th and East avenues.

Wednesday, September 4

Gypsy Scam Suspected on 9th 

A resident in the 500 block of South 9th Avenue reported a possible gypsy scam at his house about 10:45 p.m. after two men in a Jeep said they were doing work on a neighbor’s house, police said. Nothing was reported stolen from the home.

Graffiti to Recycling Bin

A woman in the 200 block of South Park Avenue reported someone spray-painted a swear word on her recycling bin about 8:10 p.m.

Woman Reports Fake AT&T Account was Created in Her Name

A woman in the 800 block of 8th Avenue reported someone had set up an AT&T account in her name about 9:20 p.m.

Warrant: Armed Robbery

Police charged Christopher Schuenke, 29, with a warrant out of Wisconsin for armed robbery. He was arrested about 10 a.m. in Gordon Park and transported to Maywood for extradition.

Suspended Registration

Police charged Lindsay Emmel, 23, with driving on a suspended registration about 1:30 p.m. in the 0-100 block of North La Grange Road. She was released on bond.

Port-a-Potty Left in Street

Someone reported they saw a port-a-potty in the middle of the street on Spring Avenue between Bell and Ogden about 2:10 p.m. The port-a-potty had been moved when police got to the scene.

Tuesday, September 3

Needles Found in Parks

A woman reported she found hypodermic needles under a bench by the playground in Waiola Park about 9 a.m.
