Citizens' Council of La Grange Welcomes Robert Pilipiszyn, La Grange Village Manager, As Guest Speaker at November 13 Meeting

Council Adds Auxiliary-Level Membership, Making Participation Easier Than Ever

La Grange, IL (November 7, 2013) – The Citizens’ Council of La Grange has announced that Robert Pilipiszyn, Village Manager of La Grange, will address the Council at its Wednesday, November 13 meeting. Mr. Pilipiszyn has served as Village Manager since 2004 and has been instrumental to the growth and development of La Grange. The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. at La Grange Village Hall (53 S. La Grange Rd.).

Mr. Pilipiszyn will give an overview of La Grange politics as it perains to the structure of Administrative Offices and Elected Board of Trustees that keep La Grange working.  His attendance is the first in a series of monthly speakers that will address the Council, with the aim of keeping the public informed of Village activity and encouraging conversation about local government.

The Council also is announcing the creation of an Auxiliary-level membership, also known as non-voting membership (NVM), a newly created position to encourage participation in the organization. La Grange business owners, students, new residents in La Grange and other members of the public who cannot commit to monthly meetings are encouraged to join the Council by becoming Auxiliary members. The position does not include voting privileges, but does not require regular meeting attendance or the one-year residence within the Village required of traditional members. It is offered at a discounted rate at $12.50 (full membership is $25) and is free for students with student identification.

The Citizens’ Council of La Grange is a non-partisan, volunteer organization dating back to the 1930s, which serves the residents of La Grange, Illinois by seeking, evaluating, and recommending candidates for the Village, Library and Park District Boards. The Citizens’ Council is not a caucus or a political party. The Council strives to promote and maintain the best possible government for all La Grange citizens. Its members are active throughout our community and work to ensure the Village’s continued success through open, honest, and intelligent governance.
