47th Street Crossing to Close Nov. 12 for Repairs
Railroad crossing to close at 47th Street in La Grange for repairs from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12.
The 47th Street railroad crossing will be closed from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 while the Indiana Harbor Belt (IHB) Railroad perform an emergency safety repair on the crossing.
The repair is similar to the repair that was completed earlier this month at East Avenue, according to the Village of La Grange.
The north / south railroad crossing at East Avenue will remain open while this work is completed.

Signs will be posted in the area designating the detour route for motorists while the crossing is under construction. The detour route for this crossing closure will use 55th Street, La Grange Road and East Avenue. Traffic delays and back-ups are likely to occur, according to the village.
