Tom Witom, Neighbor

Though Chicago-born and raised, I have lived so long in Schaumburg that I consider the suburbs home. <br><br>A veteran journalist, I have had a varied career in the field, working on weekly and daily newspapers and a monthly trade publication. I started at the age of 16 writing a community news column.  Other experience includes serving as a reporter, copy editor, makeup editor and editor in chief. For more than a decade, I covered business and general news for Reuters, based at its Chicago bureau. <br><br>In addition, I have worked as a producer for a major accounting firm, developing content for its external website. Before turning to  freelance, I headed external communications for three years at a local international heavy equipment manufacturer.<br><br>I hold a B.A. and an M.A. in English from DePaul University.
