Cook County Sheriff's Police to roll out iWatch - a crime fighting phone app - on Feb. 1.
Want to report a crime? There's gonna be an app for that too. The Cook County Sheriff's Police annoucned that by Feb. 1 they will roll out a new crime reporting app called iWatchCookCounty. This app will let folks get local crime information and submit tips to law enforcement on their cell phones. It will be provided free of charge by the Cook County Sheriff's Department, AppsZoom reported. The county hopes to use the program to serve as a crime-fighting clearing house for local police departments, according to CBSChicago. By simply clicking on the iWatchCookCounty app icon, someone can submit a tip. The mobile app lets folks report on crimes they have seen, or as they happen.
