La Grange Park trustees approve referendum on electrical aggregation for March ballot on Tuesday night.
Despite hesitancy on the part of some trustees in La Grange Park, the Village Board passed an ordinance on Tuesday night to put a referendum on the ballot in La Grange Park that will ask voters to allow the village to enter into a opt-out electrical aggregation deal, with the hope of saving resident's money on their electric bills. Trustee Rimas Kozica said the board was in a "precarious situation" of having to move forward quickly with the plan, but also not wanting to miss the opportunity to save residents money. In addition, both La Grange and La Grange Park have set up special cooling centers. Residents can go to the Village Hall in La Grange Park 24 hours a day to get out of the heat. La Grange officials are telling residents to go to La Grange Memorial Hospital for a cooling center set up there. As of 4 p.m. yesterday, over 2,500 La Grange Park residents were still …

If it is savings upon savings with the village getting a volume discount, maybe go with the village's chosen provider. I think this Patch article goes into a little more detail, re: Hinsdale doing same. http://hinsdale.patch.com/articles/electricity-aggregation-question-to-go-on-march-ballot   more ›
