Little Kids and Big Kids Celebrate Holiday Fun at LT 'Write Night'

The nearly two-decade-old tradition continues at Lyons Township High School South Campus as teen students help their smaller friends write to Santa and enjoy the holiday spirit.

Lyons Township High School South Campus was filled with kids both tall and small on Tuesday evening as the school celebrated its annual Holiday Write Night, in which LT students help their junior friends write to Santa (and get a response) and participate in a number of other festive holiday events. The younger kids, from preschool through second grade or so, enjoyed musical performances, storytelling, foreign-language Christmas traditions, cookie decorating and photos with the Lions mascots as they ventured through the halls around the South Campus’ Discovery Center. Tonight: How to Send a Letter to Santa and Get a Direct Response

Lyons Township High School teams up with Santa and his helpers for Holiday Write Night on Dec. 6

Good little boys and girls in kindergarten through third grade, can get an opportunity to write a letter to Santa Claus and receive a direct response at Lyons Township High School's South Campus on Dec. 6 for the school's annual Holiday Write Night. Families can swing by South Campus between 4-7 p.m. to write letters to Santa at the North Pole using the school's Discovery Center computers. There's no admission to the event, but families are asked to bring one non-perishable food items for donation in the spirit of the season. All the food donated will be given to a local food bank in Kelli O'Laughlin's name. "It's going to be a really great time," said Jennifer Bialobok, LTHS spokeswoman.
