Music Hub Celebrates 10th Food Drive, Collects 400 lbs. Goods

Brookfield’s A Sound Education celebrated a decade of collecting food for the Greater Chicago Food Depository—and stringing some guitars while they’re at it.

What’s better than donating to a worthy cause? How about getting your guitar restrung for free while you’re at it? That’s what Brookfield music store and lesson studio A Sound Education accomplished for the 10th consecutive year over the weekend, brining in 400 pounds of canned goods and non-perishables in their 10th annual “Canned Food Drive and Guitar Restring Event.” The event’s name says it all: in exchange for a food donation, customers received a free set of guitar strings and a free restringing. The store restrung over 50 guitars, including staying open on a Sunday. “We’ve been meaning to get one of Luke’s guitars restrung and here was an opportunity to get it done and do good,” said Diana Pieczynski in a press release, referring to…
