'Hour Town,' La Grange's Downtown Summer Art Exhibit Unveiled

Last year La Grange was rocking, but this year we'll be tick-tocking. La Grange Business Association says grandfather clocks will line our streets for this summer's downtown art exhibit.

Finding out the time won't be a problem if you're strolling through downtown La Grange this summer. The La Grange Business Association has released the new theme for its annual summer art exhibit—Hour Town—which will feature 60 hand painted and working grandfather clocks to line the streets in the downtown area. The six-foot-tall clocks can be purchased by local businesses from the LGBA for $250 dollars for member businesses and $350 for non-members of the association. Storeowners can then solicit the skills of a local artist to paint their clock in the style of their choosing. The clocks will be auctioned off for charity in September. LT Alumni's Photo Series on Display in Riverside

Burr Ridge photographer and Lyons Township High School alumni shares glimpses from around the world in an architectural abstract photo series at local exhibit.

A vibrant exhibit by Burr Ridge photographer Julie Youle-Lenoch will be on display in the lobby of the North Riverside Mall theatre, featuring photos of Mexico City and Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Lyons Township graduate said the architectural abstract photo series is her favorite. The series was shot with a Hasselblad camera, a type used by photographer and environmentalist Ansel Adams. Youle-Lenoch said shooting with this type of medium-range camera was a bit complicated at times, because the camera produces images that are upside-down and backward.  The images produced by the camera contain much detail, however, which can be seen in the photos of the home of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo—a cobalt blue house with red trim.
