Results from an autopsy performed on Monday on a La Grange Man who died during the first leg of a triathlon he was competing in at Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin were inconclusive, the Chicago Tribune reported. Regina Behnke, deputy medical examiner in Calumet County, Wis., told the Chicago Tribune that her office is still waiting on more studies, and that it could be several weeks before a ruling is made about the cause of death. Douglas David Witmer, 42, of La Grange died suddenly while competing in a triathlon on June 16, 2012. Doug was born on July 30, 1969, in Johnson City, Tenn., the son of Judith Weber Aaron and Richard Everett Witmer. Doug, along with his two brothers and one sister, grew up in Oakton, Va., until Doug went to college to earn a bachelor of arts in rhetoric and communications from University of Virginia in 1991, where he was president of his fraternity, Phi Kappa Psi. A position at R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company motivated Doug to move to Chicago in 1995, where he met his beloved wife, Kathryn Scott of Flossmoor, Ill. Officials are still investigating the death of a La Grange man who they said drowned on Saturday morning during a triathlon in Wisconsin. Doug Witmer, 42, is believed to have drowned during the competetition, the Chicago Tribune reported. Witmer was swimming in Lake Winnebago as part of the High Cliff Triathlon at High Cliff State Park in Sherwood. According to ABC7 News, Witmer is believed to have drowned shortly before 8 a.m. on Saturday. No further details have been provided as of Sunday evening.
