UPDATED, THURSDAY, 10:10 P.M.: According to a La Grange Police Department crash report, the driver of the van that narrowly missed hitting La Grange Village Hall was a 77-year-old La Grange man. The resident was driving south on La Grange Road when he suddenly veered into northbound traffic (he claimed that a parked car suddenly pulled out in front of him.) He sideswiped two northbound cars and two parked cars on the east side of La Grange before careening across Harris Avenue and onto the Village Hall lawn and coming to rest in the bushes in front of the Hall. The man told police that he had attempted to stop the car in vain. Police tested his brakes and said they appeared to be working properly. The man was cited for improper lane usage…
