Man Accused of La Grange Sexual Assault Was Convicted Robber on Parole
David A. Mason was convicted in 2009 of holding up a Glen Ellyn gas station, as well as being part of a retail-theft ring; he was paroled in January of this year.
The 28-year-old homeless man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the La Grange parking garage at the intersection of 6th and Harris on Tuesday had been on parole for 10 months, after serving about half of a six-year sentence for two felony convictions, Illinois prison records show. David A. Mason, whose last known address was in Naperville, was sentenced to two concurrent six-year prison terms in February 2009 for the aggravated robbery of a Glen Ellyn gas station using a handgun and for participating in a scheme to steal electronics from Walmart stores and sell them over the Internet, according the Naperville Sun and the Suburban Life.
