Halloween Events This Week: Haunted Trolley, Halloween Walk

Halloween events kick off the holiday this week in La Grange, La Grange Park.

La Grange and La Grange Park residents can get a head start on their Halloween celebrations with the annual Halloween Walk & Fall Festival, a haunted trolley event hosted by the La Grange Park Chamber of Commerce and a Halloween party hosted by the Community Park District of La Grange.

Patch wants to help parents keep their kids safe this Halloween. As the bewitching hour nears —trick-or-treating is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 — become familiar with regulations regarding registered sex offenders in your area.

Currently, there are 16 registered sex offenders living in the area, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry. Five are listed as living in La Grange, one is listed as living in La Grange Park and one is listed as living in Western Springs.

Friday, Oct. 25

Haunted Trolley Trick or Treat Event: The La Grange Park Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its annual Haunted Trolley Trick or Treat Event from 4-6:30 p.m. Parents and children are invited to hop on a trolley at one of several locations, including the La Grange Park Community Park District Facility, the Village Market, and locations along 31st Street. Halloween Party: The Community Park District of La Grange will host its annual Halloween Party from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the recreation center. There will be games, prizes, entertainment, and tons of fun. We will end the evening by raffling off 2 bicycles sponsored by the La Grange Fire Fighters Union! For more information, go to the park district website.

Saturday, Oct. 26

Halloween Walk 2013The La Grange Business Association will host the annual Halloween Walk, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. 

Throughout the day, nearly 30 merchants will offer a spirited schedule of seasonal activities plus shopping and dining specials, according to a news release from the La Grange Business Association. Events include free costumed pet photos, a painting party, pumpkin decorating, Halloween crafts, make-your-own caramel apples, hourly pie eating contests, a pool party and more.
