Truth On Anti-Depressants

27 million Americans take an anti-depressant. In this blog, learn about the effects of these drugs and what are healthy alternatives...

27 million Americans consume anti-depressants.  Most doctors prescribed them due to feeling the blues, anxiety, low mood or feeling constantly nervous.  Anti-depressants are the number 3rd largest prescribed drug in the US.  My question is, since 1988, anti-depressants have increased over 400%.  Are we becoming more depressed as a society?  Are we experiencing more sensations of anxiety?  OR, are we constantly stressed out?  Which do you think is the answer?

For most people, it is due to the increased stress load WITHOUT doing anything to help balance out the stress and allow for your body to stay in balance or ALLOSTASIS.  So, for about almost 10-12% of Americans on these anti-depressants, end up taking this drug without fixing the root cause.  You are not DEPRESSED, LOW MOOD, or having ANXIETY due to a lack of anti-depressants in your blood stream.  You are having these sensations due to stress (Physical, Chemical, Mental/Emotional).  Instead of taking these drugs which have adverse side effects and research has proved that taking an anti-depressant is just as effective as taking a sugar pill (placebo).  Yes, you read that right.  A sugar pill is just as effective as an anti-depressant.
