Lyons Township High School presents Mavros Festival January 16-18
The Lyons Township High School Theatre Board proudly presents the Donna N. Mavros Student Theatre Festival. This annual festival, originated and developed by former LT Theatre faculty member Donna Mavros (tenure 1969-2001) encourages and empowers students to choose, develop, direct, and craft their own production for performance. The festival honors the work of Mavros for her outstanding contributions to this festival and to the LT Theatre Department. Senior students who have given outstanding service to the Theatre Department are eligible for selection as a festival director. The selected students and
their casts and crews receive the full assistance and support of the Theatre Department. Student director Joey Bahena is directing “Motherhood Out Loud” by Leslie Ayvazian, et al., Ryan Chilton is directing “The Thugs” by Adam Bock, Becky Valek is directing “For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls” by Christopher Durang, and Chris Zurowski is directing “Purple Cows Do Exist” by Keaton Cockrell.
Performance dates are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday January 16-18, 2014 in the North Campus Reber Center. Admission is free. The theatre opens one half hour before the play begins.
