LT's Model United Nations Club takes third place

Congratulations to the Lyons Township High School Model U.N. team for their third place finish at the Chicago International Model United Nations competition held January 23-25 at the Millennium Park Fairmont Hotel in Chicago. In total, there were more than 1,000 delegates and 50 schools participating. LT finished third with 56 students on the LT team and 9 former students, who came back from college to assist in the running the event. Click Award Winners for a complete list.

Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the U.N. General Assembly. A Model U.N. delegate is a student who assumes the role of an ambassador to the United Nations. While awards are given out for the best speakers of each committee, there are no points as in debate.

LT’s Model U.N. Club meets Wednesdays after school in Room C130 at South Campus, 4900 S. Willow Springs Rd., Western Springs. For additional information, contact advisors John Cronfel at jcronfel@lths.net or Andrew Johannes ajohannes@lths.net.
