For the first time in 25 years, LT students will advance to the Speech State Finals. Seniors Claire Meyer, of LaGrange, and Jack McDermott, of Western Springs, qualified in Prose Reading and Special Occasion Speaking respectively. They will be competing at the Peoria Civic Center this Friday and Saturday.
LT’s Sectional Tournament showing included eight events, four of which made it to the Sectional finals. The last time LT had a student at State was 1988.
