LTHS Staff Recognized

LTHS staff member honored for going above and beyond, two teachers selected to attend summer science experience.

Lyons Township High School Office of Community Relations Administrative Assistant Sally Kapso recently received an Award of Excellence from the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association's Distinguished Service Awards. The statewide program honors individuals who have consistently gone above and beyond on behalf of their schools and whose efforts have enhanced education and conveyed its importance to the community at large.

Lyons Township High School Astronomy teachers Kevin Murphy and Mark Kienzyski were selected to attend ASSET, the Astrobiology Summer Science Experience for Teachers. The program will include presentations by leading astrobiology researchers from the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute, NASA and California Academy of Sciences. Scientists will share the latest in astrobiology research on the origin of life on Earth, the extreme conditions in which life exists, Mars exploration, the formation of planetary systems around Sun-like stars, and the search for life in the universe.
