LT yearbook students win national recognition

Eight members of the Tabulae staff recently attended the annual spring convention of the National Scholastic Press Association and the Journalism Education Association in San Francisco.

Eight members of the Lyons Township High School Tabulae yearbook staff recently attended the annual spring convention of the National Scholastic Press Association and the Journalism Education Association in San Francisco, California. The convention allows for the TAB yearbook to be judged and critiqued on-site by expert adjudicators. Students have the opportunity to attend seminars hosted by journalism professionals as well as participate in individual write-off competitions. The students competed in writing, photography and design contests. Juniors, who will serve as next year’s leaders, attended the convention to help prepare for next year’s edition in planning, organization, inspiration and reflection.

 

Nearly 1,500 students participated in the write off competitions, with just over 600 recognized in total. LT’s convention contest results are below:
