Patch Guide: Lollapalooza Kicks Off in Chicago Friday, Who Do You Want to See?

Music takes Chicago by storm this weekend with Black Sabbath, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Keys and more playing in Grant Park. Get the details and tell us if you're going and who you want to see!

Squealing guitars, ambient electronics and soulful voices will be hanging in the air at Grant Park in Chicago this weekend as the Lollapalooza Music Festival comes to the city.

This awesome music festival kicks off at 11:30 a.m. Friday and runs through 10 p.m. Sunday. If you don't already have a ticket, you may be out of luck. According to the Lollapalooza website, all ticket options are sold out. Still, if you go down, you can probably snag a ticket at the gates.

If you're a music fan, there's a ton of choice acts to check out, including Black Sabbath and The Black Keys dueling it out from either side of the park. But if heavy music isn't your thing, there's also Sigur Ros, Toro Y Moi and Frank Ocean there to expand your musical horizons.

Tell us if you're going to Lollapalooza this weekend and what bands you're looking forward to seeing the most.

Tips for Lollapalooza

Getting There:

La Grange was recently named  (Western Springs was .) That's good news for those who commute to work, but it's also great news for getting to Lollapalooza. Trains leaving from ,  or the will drop you off at Union Station. Just a short walk east will land you in Grant Park. See our map above to get you from point A to point B.

Weather Report:

It just wouldn't be a summer music festival in Chicago without the heat. Overall the weekend looks pretty decent weather-wise. Weather.com is predicting temperatures in the 90s on Friday and Saturday, and temperatures in the 80s on Sunday. Watch out for some predicted thunderstorms on Saturday, though. What to Bring:

Due to the probable heat this weekend, it would be a good idea to bring a lot of water. You don't want to pass out while standing in the crowd waiting for your favorite band. Lollapalooza allows festivalgoers to bring in two, factory-sealed water bottles of up to one liter each. You can also bring in empty plastic containers, or an empty CamelBak backpack.

Blankets are a good thing to bring too, for when you want to sit down and rest. You can also bring an umbrella (the kind you can hold in your hand) for possible rain on Saturday, but my suggestion would be to purchase a plastic poncho, as they don't get in the way while raising the roof.

Sunscreen is another good thing to pack; only it can't be the aerosol kind. Get some lotion, and use it.

Not going this year, but I'd love to catch the Black Keys (always an amazing performance) and Frank Ocean's set will probably be pretty cool to be at too. The hardest part is always picking which bands to see!

I'm with ya Matt-BK's pump out a lot of music for just two guys. As for the rest, you have to like the thought of Black Sabbath music bouncing off around the lakefront/loop.

Sabbath and Passion Pit.

Thanks Anthony. It's probably worthwhile just to head down there and listen outside the gates!

They don't get much different than those two bands! Thanks Bill.
