LT Boys Track Qualifies for 17 State Events

The Lyons Township boys track team has been ranked highly all year by area media, and the Lions showed why at the sectional meet last weekend.

LT won its Class 3A home sectional and qualified for 17 events at state. Nick Demes, Matthew Harris and Lino Mogorovic each qualified for two events, and the team qualified for every relay event. Check out the full sectional results on IHSA's website. 

Nazareth competed in the Class 2A Fenwick sectional last week, and Zachery Manuel was the lone state qualifier in the long jump and 100-meter dash events.

• Matthew Harris (long jump, 110-meter high hurdles)
• Tom Bryson (pole vault)
• Nick Demes (shot put, discus throw)
• Jimmy Mitchell (shot put)
• Michael Matusiak (3200-meter run)
• Lino Mogorovic (110-meter high hurdles, 300-meter intermediate hurdles)
• Ed McCarter (800-meter run)
• Alex Lima (800-meter run)
• Antwan Swan (400-meter dash)
• Jimmy Rhode (400-meter dash)

And the team qualified in the 4x800-meter, 4x100-meter, 4x200-meter and 4x400-meter relays.
