LT Boys Cross Country Finishes Fourth at State

The Lions finished behind Hinsdale Central, Downers Grove North and O'Fallon in the team competition.

Lyons Township placed four runners in the top 50 Saturday at Peoria's Detweiller Park en route to a fourth-place team finish in the 3A boys cross country state meet. 

Senior Henry Hostettler 15:08 led the way for the Lions with a 25th-place finish among runners in the team competition at 15:08. Hostettler was followed by No. 35 Dan Lupano at 15:16, No. 37 James Ryan at 15:17, and No. 39 Ed McCarter at 15:18. 
 
Kevin Kilrea finished at 15:25, Vince Arata at 15:39, and Dom Zona at 16:04.

The top five places of each squad competing in the team competition were added together for the team score. Hinsdale Central's overall score of 99 bested Downers Grove North's 144 and O'Fallon's 157. LT came next with a score of 190.

Hinsdale Central placed four runners in the top 30. O'Fallon's Patrick Perrier was the individual 3A champion with a time of 14:21. 

On the girls' side, LT's Lexy Rudofski finished 23rd overall at 17:29, and Katie Hamor was 48th at 18:02.
