St. Francis Jumps Towards Guinness Record

The entire main campus of St. Francis Xavier jumped today at a chance to set a Guinness record as part of the nationwide Let's Jump campaign.

A joint effort was made on Wednesday between first lady Michelle Obama, National Geographic Kids and students across the country to set a new Guinness World Record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period.

Students at lent an arm and a leg today at 8:30 a.m. by getting the whole student body to do jumping jacks for one minute. Sixth grader, Alex Kuptel, was the student who initially brought the idea to St. Francis. With the help of the school's principal and gym teacher, the entire school headed to the playground for a little early morning exercise.

The goal today was to have 20,000 students across the United States do a full minute of jumping jacks for Let's Jump—part of the Let's Move campaign, created by the first lady to target childhood obesity.
