Nazareth Student Athletes Make College Commitments

Outstanding student athletes and honor roll students announce colleges where they will continue to pursue academic careers.

Three student-athletes from Nazareth Academy, Ellen Chiligiris (Downers Grove), Allison Kurek (Chicago) and Linnea Rohrsen (Chicago) have officially committed to continue their academic and athletic pursuits at Williams College in Massachusetts, Concordia University Wisconsin and Purdue University respectively.

Ellen Chiligiris plays ice hockey for Chicago Mission U19 which won state competition and was one of two top teams in the Midwest Region to participate in national competition in Boston last week, finishing third place in the country. Ellen is also an honor roll student at Nazareth.

“Ellen is an intelligent student who possesses a solid work ethic,” says Spanish teacher Dmitri Martinez. “She excels in virtually every task presented to her, able to effectively manage her time between academics and the ice rink. Ellen’s successes will most definitely continue beyond her time as a student at Nazareth.”
