Make-Up Free Friday Spotlights Nazareth Students' Inner Beauty (PHOTOS)

Nazareth Academy's female students celebrated Women's History Month on Friday by going without make-up to prove that they're 'More than a Pretty Face.'

Although many women feel tremendous pressure to conform to a standard of beauty, the young ladies at Nazareth Academy took a step Friday to prove that it's what's inside that really counts.

Dozens of students, teachers and staff participated in "Make-Up Free Friday," the culmination of a Women's History Month celebration around the theme "More than a Pretty Face."

The goal was to emphasize that society should appreciate women for their whole character, not just their looks, said Nazareth Principal Deborah Tracy in a statement.

"This, as we know, is especially difficult when we are a part of a culture that places so much emphasis on outer beauty and unfortunately, our young women can still get caught up in all of the pressure this represents,” she said.
