LT's Post Prom Fundraiser Adds Online Auction
Bidding for everything from gift baskets to one-of-a-kind experience gift certificates helps lessen ticket price for students going to after-party on boat in Lake Michigan.
The Parent Teacher Council of Lyons Township High School is busy organizing the 21st annual post prom, scheduled for June 2. For the past 21 years, the PTC has provided students attending prom with a free after party on the ship, Odyssey, on Lake Michigan—a safe and substance-free venue.
The event is an expensive one, and since it's not school-funded, the PTC raises money to lessen the cost students must pay. In the past, the PTC has raised the funds through a raffle for parents and through donations solicited from organizations and businesses.
This year, 32 online auctions of a variety of items have been added to the mix. No online payment is required—winning bidders pay by cash or check at pick-up on March 16-17 at LTHS. The auctions are accepting bids until March 14 at 5:00 p.m. Click here to access the auctions and make sure to check out the instructions at the end of this column.
