LT Transition Students Decorate Grandfather Clock for "Hour Town" Art Exhibit

Students in LT's transition program are the designers of the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce's grandfather clock this year. The clock will appear in downtown La Grange as part of the village's summer art exhibit.

Students in will have their work on display this summer as part of the summer art exhibit,

This summer, grandfather clocks will dot the La Grange landscape for the exhibit. Previous year's exhibits have included cow statues and rocking chairs purchased by area businesses and painted by local artists.

The commissioned transition students again this year to decorate their grandfather clock. Students in the program turned the clock into a tree and have spent time painting on leaves and branches. Titled, Hour Tree: It's Time To Grow, the clock will be on display in downtown La Grange beginning on May 31.

"I hope it’ll be very popular and will be an opportunity to share these students’ amazing talents and enthusiasm with the community," said Katherine Leibforth, foundation director at the WSCCI. "...Students in the transitional program at LTHS have been painting our entry to this LGBA fundraiser for years, so it’s a tradition."

At the end of the summer, the clocks will be auctioned off in front of Village Hall to the highest bidder. Funds raised by the clocks will be donated to charity.

You can also catch student's from LT's transition program at the La Grange Farmer's Market on Tuesdays! Students have been selling produce they've grown in their garden at the Transition House to raise money for their program.
