LT Students Construct, Demolish Berlin Wall Replica

Students commemorated the 23 years since the wall was torn down by building up their own plywood version, then ripping it up on Thanksgiving.

Students at Lyons Township High School South Campus constructed a replica of the infamous Berlin Wall on Nov. 15, which was scheduled to stand until Nov. 22, when they would tear it down, The Doings Western Springs reported.

The project was worked on by both the German club and a stagecraft class, the paper reported, with the goal being to keep alive the memory of the barrier that so long separated the western and eastern halves of the city of Berlin.
