Tonight: How to Send a Letter to Santa and Get a Direct Response

Lyons Township High School teams up with Santa and his helpers for Holiday Write Night on Dec. 6

Good little boys and girls in kindergarten through third grade, can get an opportunity to write a letter to Santa Claus and receive a direct response at Lyons Township High School's South Campus on Dec. 6 for the school's annual .

Families can swing by between 4-7 p.m. to write letters to Santa at the North Pole using the school's Discovery Center computers. There's no admission to the event, but families are asked to bring one non-perishable food items for donation in the spirit of the season. All the food donated will be given to a local food bank in name.

"It's going to be a really great time," said Jennifer Bialobok, LTHS spokeswoman. "We have a lot of fun with it every year."

Kids who attend Write Night will have the opportunity to create a "passport" which will be stamped at each of the rooms they visit. Kids will learn to say Merry Christmas and sing a simple song in a variety of languages, including French, German and Spanish. Other rooms include Christmas stories, face painting and cookie decorating—all staffed by Santa's LT elves.

Nearly 500 LT student volunteers will be on hand to help kids with projects, provide musical entertainment and bake cookies (provided by the LT Chef's Club).
