Lyons Township High School to host free college financial planning seminar on Thursday, March 10

On Thursday, March 10 from 7-9pm the Lyons Township High School Adult Education division will host a free college financial planning seminar for parents of all high school students at the South Campus.

The seminar will be led by Ryan Williamson, a certified financial planner® and certified college planning specialist at College Horizons, a division of Horizon Wealth Management in La Grange.  Mr. Williamson has the distinction to be one of only eighteen Certified College Planning Specialists in the state of Illinois.

The presentation will give parents a roadmap of what they can do now to maximize their child's financial aid packages.  Parents will learn about which assets and earnings will count against you when applying for financial aid and how to reposition your assets to receive the best financial aid offers.  Parents will also learn how to uncover asset and tax strategies to help lower your EFC (expected family contribution) and find out how to restructure your finances to find hidden money in your budget for college expenses.
