Afraid to leave your school-age child home alone? You won't be once they learn the basics on how to stay safe in the home. The Greater LaGrange YMCA offers a home alone class, structured by the American Red Cross, that will teach the basics of safety in the home. Offered to children in grades first through seventh, the class also provides self-care tips like how to safely answer the phone or door and what to do in case of a fire or other emergency. The class, which is open to the public, is $10 for Y members and $15 for non-members. Further information is available by calling 708-352-7600.
