Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital announces grief support group

La Grange – Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital is offering an eight-week grief support and education group. The group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning April 6 in the chapel at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, 5101 S. Willow Springs Road, La Grange.

 

The group is for those who have lost a loved one through death. There is no charge.

“This group offers a safe place for those who are feeling isolated and may have difficulty understanding the pain they are going through,” said Colleen Narbone, chaplain at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital and the group’s facilitator. “It’s an opportunity to be with others who are experiencing many of the same emotions. Group members can help each other through the process and facilitate healing.”

Topics include understanding the phases of grief, accepting and expressing feelings and learning to cope. Group members can talk about memories and observing anniversaries.
