Eight New Teachers, Staff Hired in La Grange School District 102

At the district's board of education meeting Sept. 9, the board also accepted one resignation.

Members of the La Grange School District 102 Board of Education approved the hiring of eight new staff members and accepted one resignation during their Sept. 9 meeting at Park Junior High, 325 N. Park Rd., one of the district schools.

The school district, which has six school buildings total located in La Grange, La Grange Park and Brookfield and began school this year on Aug. 24, accepted the resignation of Vicky Cunningham, minority liaison, as of Aug. 10, and appointed the following new teachers and staff with a start date of Aug. 19, 2010:

Catherine English was hired as a kindergarten teacher, Jamie Kronenberger as a second grade teacher, and William Roscoe as a fifth grade teacher, all at Ogden Avenue School, 501 W. Ogden Ave.

Elyse Hultgren was hired as a sixth grade teacher, and Samantha Leahy as a staff member for Immediate Connections, at Forest Road School, 901 Forest Rd.

Megan Jessen was hired as a kindergarten teacher and Amanda Zagone as a first grade teacher, both at Congress Park School, 9311 Shields Ave.

Sarah Dolezal was hired as a part-time social worker at Barnsdale Road School, 920 Barnsdale Rd.

The remaining district schools—Park Junior High and Cossitt Avenue School, 115 W. Cossitt Ave., did not gain or lose staff during the meeting.
