The early bird catches the worm! Register for summer camp by March 31st and save money!

Registration for summer camps, including the NEW Camp Trailblazers, begins on Feb. 1!

You've heard the saying, "The early bird catches the worm." Well in 2013, the worm is hanging around a little longer.

This year, the Park District of La Grange is offering an extra month to take advantage of its early bird registration discount.

Beginning Feb. 1, patrons will be able to register their children for the Park District of La Grange Summer Camps, which will run in 9 one-week sessions from June 10, 2013 to August 9, 2013. Parents who register their son or daughter before March 31 will receive 10 percent off the registration fee.

The Park District offers five different summer camps in both full and half day options. Brand new in summer 2013 is Camp Trailblazers, a full-day camp for five-to-12 year olds at the state-of-the-art Countryside Park. This is an outdoor-based camp, with Mondays and Tuesdays being regular camp days, Wednesdays being a field trip day, Thursdays being a water activity and cookout day, and Friday being a pool day.

In addition to Camp Trailblazers, the park district returns its other popular day camps. Camp Tiny Tots is the two- or three-day-a-week half-day camp for preschoolers, while Camp Mighty Munchkins is a full day camp for four-to-six year olds. Grade school-aged children can enjoy sports, games, crafts and fun at either Camp-A-Palooza (half day) or Camp Quest (full day).

Camp Mighty Munchkins, Camp-A-Palooza and Camp Quest are all indoor and outdoor based, while Camp Tiny Tots takes place inside of the Park District of La Grange's air-conditioned Recreation Center.

The Park District also offers before and after care for its participants in Camp Mighty Munchkins, Camp Quest and Camp Trailblazers for an additional fee. The Early Bird Registration discount does not apply to before or after care, and a second child discount is not available during Early Bird Registration.

For more information about the summer camps, see pages 24-25 and pages 35-37 in the Park District of La Grange's Winter/Spring brochure.
