Top 10 Highest Unemployment Rates in Illinois: Oh Dear, Belvidere

We've got a look at the ten Illinois cities with the highest rates of unemployment in January.

There was some good news about the announcement of Illinois' unemployment rate for February: It didn't go up. The bad news? It stayed stationary at a very high mark of 8.7 percent. With the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) set to release more February figures next week, we took a look at the ten cities with the highest unemployment rates in January, and it's bad news bears for the Rockford region.

With the state of the economy and the high unemployment rate in Illinois, jobs are a main theme of the governor race between Pat Quinn and Bruce Rauner. Jobs, minimum wage, the income tax and making Illinois attractive to employers are all issues that will come into play.

The issue of raising the minimum wage just made its opening salvo in 2014 as a bill proposing to gradually raise Illinois' minimum wage to $10.65 by 2016 passed an Illinois Senate committee.

Why does Bruce Rauner look like he is auditioning for an erectile dysfunction commercial and not Governor?

Because quinn (no caps for sure) makes you go limp with the way he has run this state - fool!

I'd like to know how many businesses are employing illegals and paying them under the table. Not sure why I'm asking because that doesn't happen in Illinois or the U.S. for that matter. If it did then we'd have companies breaking the law and that would never happen, ever.
