Love is in the Air

High schoolers at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs hosted a very successful Balloon-a-gram fundraiser for Valentine's Day. Thanks to everyone who bought a Balloon-a-gram!

Have you seen some gorgeous Valentine's Day balloons floating around friends' houses this week?  Or maybe you have one of your own.  The Senior Youth Group at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs (PCWS) held a highly successful Balloon-a-gram fundraiser this week that helped to warm hearts all over the area and raised important funds for a summer mission trip.

Roughly 17 members of the PCWS Senior Youth Group (for grades 9-12) were involved in selling, assembling, and delivering Balloon-a-grams.  These Balloon-a-grams included a beautiful mylar balloon, a bag of delicious Valentine candy, and a personalized message.  After people placed their order, the teens delivered the Balloon-a-grams to the recipient.  A special delivery of love right to your door!

The PCWS Senior Youth Group did a great job, selling and delivering 452 Balloon-a-grams!

All proceeds from the Balloon-a-gram fundraiser go toward a Youth Group summer mission project with the Appalachia Service Project (ASP).  ASP services a 5-state region in rural central Appalachia.  PCWS youth will travel to Appalachia this summer to help ASP do home repair projects at no charge to the recipients.  These projects provide warmer, safer, and drier homes for those who live there.

Thanks to everyone who purchased a Balloon-a-gram!  And congratulations to the Youth Group and all the families and PCWS friends who worked so hard to make the fundraiser a success.

PCWS has an active Youth Ministry for everyone from babies to high school seniors.  If you'd like to learn more or get involved in activities or fun events, check out www.presbyws.org or call the church office at 708-246-5220.
