Village Approves La Grange Park Business Association Banner Program

Trustees unanimously approved a La Grange Park Business Association program to promote local businesses on village light poles.

La Grange Park trustees voted unanimously on Tuesday night to approve a La Grange Park Business Association (LPBA) program to hang banners in La Grange Park promoting local businesses. The program will allow businesses to sponsor banners on village light poles along La Grange Road and along 31st Street.

The program drew support from trustees as a way for local businesses to promote themselves in the village to residents and people passing through.

Even with the unanimous support, Trustee Patricia Rocco expressed some concern over whether the village would have final approval over the design of the signs. LPBA President Sheri Sauer replied that the designs had already been approved, and it would increase the cost to the association if they were to request a redesign.

Despite her reservations, Rocco voted for their approval along with the board.

Each banner will be paid for by the sponsoring business and banner production will be contracted through Burr Ridge-based Bannerville USA.

Banners along 31st Street will cost a sponsoring business $175, according to LPBA documents presented at the meeting. A La Grange Road banner would cost $300. Businesses that choose to participate would be allowed to sponsor a banner close to their location and add their logo to the design.

The LPBA estimates that the banners will begin appearing around La Grange Park by Oct. 1.
