The Village of La Grange Board of Trustees will meet at Village Hall, 53 S. La Grange Rd., tonight at 7:30 p.m.

A few key topics will be on the agenda this evening, including plans for the public display of fireworks at Community Family Fest, whether to allow a license for a for-profit solicitor, Nancy Sawickis, to solicit her products for Mary Kay beauty products in the village, and the possible expansion of some energy saving and facility improvements at Village Hall.

The La Grange Park District is seeking an OK from the village to host fireworks at their Community Family Fest on July 29 at Gordon Park. The fire chief and the police chief have both reviewed the proposal and have submitted their recommendations.

In addition, the park district is looking for approval to sell beer and wine at the event between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. The sale of alcohol will additionally be monitored by obtaining a wristband.

Park district representatives will also be available at the meeting to answer questions. The proposal is expected to be approved as part of the Village's omnibus agenda.

For-profit solicitation:

Also as part of the village board's omnibus agenda, the village will consider whether to award a for-profit solicitation permit to Nancy Sawickis, to sell Mary Kay beauty products in La Grange.

Energy efficiency and facility improvements:

Thanks to some cost savings on a bid that was approved by the village board in March of this year for a project to renovate and improve the energy efficiency of Village Hall, the Village now has an additional $100,000 in funds to use for more renovations.

Based on the additional funding, the village will consider whether to expand the scope of the renovations to possibly include items like new windows, light replacement, and renovating public space at Village Hall.
