La Grange Park Residents May Notice Water Color Change Today

The village of La Grange Park will be testing the water flow of fire hydrants on Aug. 15.

Residents in La Grange Park may notice a slight change in the color of the water coming out of their faucets as the village tests fire hydrants on Aug. 15.

The village announced that crews would be testing the water flow of fire hydrants on Wednesday in various areas of the village. Testing is scheduled to begin at about 9 a.m., with no disruption to resident's water service expected.

Following testing, the color of the water may change slightly, but officials advised there are no health hazards associated with the color change. If noticed, they recommend running the water for a few minutes to rid the pipes of sediment before drinking.

The village is testing their fire hydrants to determine the flow capabilities in conjunction with an evaluation being conducted by Insurance Services Offices, Inc.
