La Grange Park Announces Public Hearings on Electrical Aggregation

La Grange Park will hold two public hearings on the subject of electrical aggregation on May 8 and 14 at 6 p.m. at Village Hall.

The has announced that dates have been set for two public hearings on the issue of . The first is set for May 8 and the second on May 14. Both meetings will be held in the conference room at Village Hall, 447 N. Catherine Ave. at 6 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is get to resident feedback on a plan for aggregation that would effect residents and small businesses in La Grange Park. A copy of the village's plan will be available at Village Hall on April 25, and will also be posted online on the village website.

La Grange Park trustees approved the ballot initiative in December 2011 in the hope that by purchasing electricity with other municipalities and through Commonwealth Edison's competitors, they would be able save residents some money on their electricity bills.

Voters overwhelming supported the imitative on March 20 with 68 percent voting yes in favor of aggregation.
