La Grange OKs Preliminary Levy Estimate

La Grange Village Board members approve recommendation of an estimated levy increase for 2013, the Doings reports.

La Grange Village Board members Monday approved a preliminary tax levy recommendation, the Doings La Grange reported Tuesday.

Village staff proposed a 2.97 percent increase from last year's levy extension based on a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 1.7 percent and new growth in the village of about $7.5 million in equalized assessed value (EAV), according to a village staff memo.

The increase would result in an increase of about $16 for a taxpayer in a $350,000 home, according to the Doings.
