Citizen's Council and Trustees to Hold Discussion on Tax Increase

La Grange trustees Jeff Nowak and Mark Kuchler will hold a discussion on their opposing views on a recent tax increase on utilities at the April 11 Citizen's Council of La Grange meeting at Village Hall.

The public is asked to attend the Citizen's Council of La Grange meeting on April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 53 S. La Grange Rd., for a discussion on a recent tax increase on utilities and other tax-related items.

Trustees Jeff Nowak and Mark Kuchler will be in attendance to talk about their votes and answer questions from the audience.

"When elected officials face the issue of cutting community services or raising taxes, there are no easy answers," said Dave Schwartz, Citizens’ Council chairman, in a press release.

Nowak voted against the increase and Kuchler voted for it, the press release read. Both trustees will talk with audience members about their vote and then answer questions on that and other tax-related topics.

The Council is working hard to recruit 40 new members to help slate candidates for the 12 open positions on La Grange's library, village and park district boards that will be open in the 2013 local elections.
