MONDAY, JUNE 18

Squirrel Was Not Stuck in Muffler

A woman on the 500 block of Blackstone Avenue told La Grange police June 18 that something was stuck in her car muffler, possibly a small animal such as a squirrel. The officer said she had animal hair in the muffler.

Boy Charged in Purse Theft

A 15-year-old Brookfield boy was charged with theft as a juvenile after someone reported he was walking down the 100 block of Cossiitt Avenue with a purse in his hands.

Car Throws Fireworks at Woman

A woman was at Eighth and Cossitt avenues when someone in a dark-colored vehicle threw fireworks at her at about 6:46 p.m. June 18.

Smoke Coming out of Basement

The La Grange Fire Department responded to a call at about 5:46 p.m. June 18 of smoke coming out of the basement of a home on the 300 block of south Edgewood Lane.

Credit Card Account Opened Fraudulently

A La Grange man told police June 18 that someone opened a credit card account in his name.

Driver Throws Bottles Out of Car

A driver of a small, white compact car was throwing bottles out his window at 47th Street and Edgewood Lane at about 9:24 p.m. June 18.

FRIDAY, JUNE 15

Car Too Close to Center Line, Causes Crash

A 23-year-old Cicero woman told La Grange police she apparently was too close to the center line while going west on Ogden Avenue prior to a three-car crash. The Cicero woman's 1997 Nissan Maxima hit an eastbound Honda Civic in the center lane that was driven by a La Grange woman. The Civic then struck an eastbound Honda Civic in the curb lane driven by a Forest View woman. The driver from Cicero was ticketed for driving in the wrong lane, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no valid driver’s license.

THURSDAY, JUNE 14

Car Strikes Vehicle Stopped in Front

A 57-year-old Riverside woman told La Grange police she was driving east on Ogden Avenue at about 3:46 p.m. June 14 and did not see a 2008 Hyundai stopped in front of her before she hit it, about 50 feet west of La Grange Road.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13

Hit-and Run Reported in Hospital Employee Lot

A 2010 Ford Focus owned by a Maywood man was reported at about 5:56 p.m. June 13 as having been hit in the employee parking lot at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, 5101 S. Willow Springs Road. Hospital security will review surveillance video to find the other car.
