Woman Reports Suspected Home Break-in

Here are a few items from the police blotter.

A woman living on the 0-100 block of Drexel Avenue called La Grange police at about 3:12 p.m. April 13 to say someone broke into her house within the last hour and she was not sure whether that person still was there. No missing items were listed on a police shift report.

Boy takes $20 in taxi

A La Grange man reported at about 1:27 p.m. April 13 that a La Grange boy took $20 from his grandson while both were riding in a taxi on the Stevenson Expressway from a school in Naperville to La Grange.

Purse missing, found in closet

A La Grange woman told police at about 7:52 a.m. April 14 that her purse was missing and she thought someone came into her house. She later reported finding the purse in her son’s closet.

Teen thought to be smoking marijuana

Someone reported to La Grange police that a male in his late teens appeared to be smoking marijuana outside a business on the 500 block of Hillgrove Avenue at about 10:45 a.m. April 14. The teen, wearing a blue hoodie and blue sweatpants, walked west and put something in his shoe. An officer could not locate him.

Ambulance set for two women

A La Grange Fire Department ambulance was sent to the post office, 121 W. Hillgrove Ave., at about 3:39 p.m. April 14  for an injured 84-year-old woman  The police shift report does not indicate whether she was taken to the hospital.

A 56-year-old woman was taken to Loyola Hospital in Maywood at about 7:36 p.m. April 14 from the north side of the LaGrange Road train station, 9 W. Hillgrove Ave. The reason was not indicated in the police shift report.   

Fire Department to the rescue

The La Grange Fire Department provided mutual aid for a fire call on the 8700 block of 50th Street at about 1:20 a.m. April 15; a fire alarm in Village Market North, 432 Sherwood Road in La Grange Park, at about 1:39 p.m. April 14; and the smell of smoke in a building on the 700 block of north LaGrange Road.
