Village Warns of Burglars in the Area

Village warns residents after eight burglaries were reported in the area over the last three weeks.

The Village of La Grange Wednesday sent out a community alert, warning residents of residential burglaries that have been reported recently in the area over the last three weeks.

The offenders will typically knock on a door to verify that no one is at home prior to forcing entry, according to the alert.

"Although La Grange has not experienced a similar incident, we want our residents to be informed and vigilant. It is imperative that if you should see anything 'suspicious' in your neighborhood, that you call 9-1-1 immediately. Supply the best description possible to the 9-1-1 operator but do not attempt to confront the suspicious persons, or place yourselves in harm’s way," the alert reads.
